Refunds on CGCircuit: Creator Policy

Overview

This article explains how customer refunds affect your earnings, what qualifies as a defect, and what we expect for accurate product pages and compatible media. Our goal is to keep refunds fair for both customers and creators while protecting the marketplace from abuse.

Refund impact & fees

  1. Revenue reversals

When a customer refund is approved, your creator revenue share is reversed proportionally to the refunded amount.

  2. Final decision & refund form

The decision to refund—and whether to issue a payment reversal or CGCircuit store credit—rests with CGCircuit, in line with the customer policy and applicable law.

“Contact the author” pathway

CGCircuit may, at its discretion, ask the customer to contact you (the creator) directly first.

  • We’ll provide the simplest contact method (e.g., a direct link or messaging channel).
  • If you reach an agreement, CGCircuit will coordinate platform steps (revoking access, updating the order).
  • If no good-faith resolution is reached, CGCircuit will adjudicate per this policy.

What counts as a defect

Eligible defects

  • Recording quality defects: corrupted files, missing or unusable audio, or unusable resolution.
  • Misleading presentation: title/description/presentation that is materially incongruent with the delivered content.
  • Non-resolvable playback compatibility: media cannot be played/streamed on supported browsers/devices that meet platform system requirements after reasonable troubleshooting.

Not defects

Teaching method or style, pace, accent, curriculum choices, or level of detail are not defects.

Also not defects: issues caused by unsupported/obsolete hardware or software, environments below system requirements, corporate/security firewalls, or insufficient bandwidth/unstable networks.

“Example Files”

  • The absence of project files is not a refund reason; however, if the table states files are included and they are missing, that counts as misleading presentation and may result in refunds.

Media & compatibility standards

  • Follow CGCircuit’s media encoding and delivery specs (codecs, bitrates, resolutions, streaming settings, captions/subtitles if provided).
  • Test playback on supported browsers/devices. Non-compliant encodes or delivery that cause non-resolvable playback issues may be treated as defects and require prompt fixes or customer remedies.

Promotions

Orders placed with promotions/coupons/discounts may be subject to stricter anti-abuse checks during refund review.

How refund reviews work

  • We assess the customer’s eligibility (e.g., watch-time %, download timestamps) and the product’s compliance with this policy.
  • Depending on the case, we may: attempt fix/replace → offer an exchange → grant a refund (payment reversal or store credit).
  • If a refund is granted, your revenue share is reversed accordingly.
